September 21, 2009, will mark the fourth anniversary of Ryan’s final radiation treatment. Not coincidentally, this is also his target date for completing his journey on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). His target start date is Monday, May 4—one day after his 31st birthday.
Over the course of the planned 141 days on the PCT, Ryan will cover 2,658 miles. His goal is to raise $10 per mile for the entire route for a total of $26,580. 100 people giving $0.10 per mile or 1000 people pledging $0.01 per mile would accomplish this.
Every penny raised would go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation where, in 2007, nearly 80 cents of every dollar went directly to programs that help those who had been affected by cancer—a number that continues to grow each day.
