Welcome to Hike for Hope 2009

On May 5, 2009, Ryan Krabill embarked on an extraordinary journey on the Pacific Crest Trail—a 2,664 mile adventure stretching from the U.S.-Mexico border to British Columbia, Canada.

Over the course of roughly 5 months, he will attempt to traverse a route on foot that covers three western states, 24 national forests, 34 wilderness areas, seven national parks, and six North American ecozones.

Throughout the summer, Ryan will be raising money for the benefit of the Lance Armstrong Foundation and its continuing fight against cancer of all types.  The target date for completion of the trail is September 21, 2009—the fourth anniversary of Ryan’s completion of treatment in his own battle with the disease.

You are invited to join in his journey.  Throughout his experience along the trail, he will provide periodic updates to his Trail Blog, as technology permits.  Please check on his progress often as he shares as much of his experience as possible.  As he logs his mileage, you can also help him in his effort to raise at least $10 for every mile he hikes for the benefit of the Lance Armstrong Foundation by making a secure, tax-deductible donation on his fundraising page.  You can also help by spreading the word to your friends and family and encouraging them to do the same.  And now, you can follow him via Facebook.

Welcome to the journey!
